Ethics Counsellors: Legal Division

Someone with Paralegal formal education, training, and/or experience, can apply for a position at an SOE Global Network Embassy as a Legal Aide, in the Legal Division. Once they have obtained their License to Practice Law, they may apply for an SOE Attorney position at an SOE Global Network Embassy - working their way up from entry-level to senior management. After five years in a Senior Managing Attorney position they may apply for a Level I Diplomatic Background Clearance Check from the SOE Embassy Legal System (E.L.S.) – which takes roughly one year to complete - and once approved, apply for a position as the Counsellor-Designate Senior Attorney for a new Ethics Counsellor – a Second-Chair position which requires Level I Diplomatic Clearance without any of the Level I Diplomatic perks, and is subject to annual reviews.

After five years in that position, the next step is to then apply for a Level II Diplomatic Background Clearance Check from the SOE Embassy Legal System (E.L.S.), and then – assuming clearance was granted - apply for a Diplomatic Status Recommendation from the SOE Council - which may take some time but, for most, is usually approved. Once the Diplomatic Status Recommendation has been approved, they may apply for any Diplomatic openings as an SOE Legal Ethics Counsellor - a First-Chair/Lead Attorney position, and if accepted, be Sworn-In as an SOE Legal Ethics Counsellor, Level II Diplomat - subject to annual reviews, and psychiatric testing. As level II SOE Global Network Diplomats, Ethics Counsellors are also SOE Notary Publics.

The final step, after serving as an Ethics Counsellor for the minimum five years, is to apply for clearance to become an SOE Embassy Legal System (E.L.S.) Disciplinary Board Member, which will put them on the road to becoming eligible for a position – after serving as a Disciplinary Board Member for the minimum five years – as an E.L.S. Disciplinary Board Director.

Disciplinary Board Member (D.B.M.)

Level II SOE Diplomat

Much the same way SOE Ambassadors can become Chancellor-Designates, after serving in their respective positions for a minimum of five (5) years, so too can SOE Global Network Security Commissioners, and SOE Global Network Ethics Counsellors, be elected to become Disciplinary Board Members, thereby allowing the honorific letters D.B.M. to follow their title. I.e. SOE Ethics Counsellor D.B.M. Mary Morgan; SOE Security Commissioner D.B.M. Maxwell Morgan.

Disciplinary Board Directors – a position for which, if available, 5 year + Disciplinary Board Members may apply - carry the honorific letters D.B.D. after their titles. As they are law enforcers, all SOE Disciplinary Board Members, are issued, and carry, badges. Also, as Level II SOE Global Network Diplomats, SOE Disciplinary Board Members are SOE Notary Publics.
